Antonio Míguez – Boas Vides
I am Antonio Míguez Amil. I was born in 1968, on the other side of a vineyard, in a small world shaped by people, rivers, streams and hills covered with vines. Time has changed many things, but that childhood landscape has remained deeply engraved in my memory. As a child, I often heard that one had to study and find a “proper” trade, because the land was hard and demanding. They were right, but the land also leaves its mark.
I cannot understand wine without good vines, nor vines without a living and healthy natural environment. Wine is born long before the winery: it is born in respect for the land.

After years of reflection, travel, and coming and going around the world, the need arose to return to the path my family had already followed at least since the 18th century: making wine in Ribeiro, one of the oldest wine-growing regions in Europe.
From 1993 onwards, I began to restore old vineyards and ancestral production sites on the slopes and hills of the Avia riverbanks. There, I replanted the native grape varieties—the same ones that gave Ribeiro wines their fame and historical identity.
